Our PE Apprenticeship programme can open the door to many careers and opportunities.

We offer three different apprenticeship programmes:

Job Description

  • In host school 4 days per week
  • At college 1 day per week
  • Supporting PE
  • throughout the school day
  • Support lunchtime and afterschool clubs
  • Support in preparing teams for festivals
  • Support within other curriculum areas in the classroom
  • Support with administration of PE and
  • School Sport
  • Taking small cohorts of groups for activities
  • Run sports, health and well-being projects within work setting

Personal Specification

Essential
  • Passion for sport
  • Experience of Sport Leadership
  • Keen to learn
  • Enjoys working with children
  • Committed
Desirable
  • Experience of supporting local community club
  • Pass at GCSE Maths and English


Contract

  • Wages are dependent upon age and previous qualifications but are in line with National Apprenticeship wages
  • 13 – 15 months starting September 2020


Progression

  • Level 3 TA Standard through PE
  • Further Education
  • Higher Education
  • More equipped for employment

  • Wage dependent on age and previous apprenticeships (£5k-£11k P/A)
  • 13-18 months starting September 2020

  • Further Education
  • Higher Education
  • More equipped for employment

Job Description

  • In SSP min 4 days per week
  • In training max 1 day per week
  • Communicating with schools supporting SGO
  • Assisting delivery of competitions and festivals
  • Lead lunchtime and after school clubs
  • Lead in preparing teams for festivals
  • Supporting with administration of PE and School Sport
  • Lead own projects
  • Support SSP coaching staff to deliver in curriculum time and in extra curricular clubs

Personal Specification

Essential
  • Passion for sport and education
  • Experience in planning and delivering sports events
  • Previous experience in education or sports coaching setting
  • NVQ Level 2 Activity Leadership or
  • A Level’s/BTEC

Contract

  • Wage dependent on age and previous apprenticeships (£5k-£11k P/A)
  • 18 months starting September 2020

Progression

  • HLTA
  • Working in Community Sport Association
  • Further Education
  • Higher Education
  • More equipped for employment
