Alex Dewar was a highly successful Army Warrant Officer with the world at his feet, when he suffered a Brain Haemorrage which would change his life forever. School staff and children alike will be inspired by the courage, determination and resilience Alex has and continues to show to rebuild his life following his accident. Children will learn about how physical activity and fitness was key to his survival and his recovery, including taking part in the Invictus Games representing Team GB.
They will learn about the disabilities Alex lives with now, many of which are ‘hidden disabilities’ (such as reduced sight), and his tremendous positive attitude which allows him to see opportunity in all challenges. Alex truly believes ‘there is always a way’ to navigate a problem or set back, either to solve it through another method or to find a new path or opportunity. A day with Alex provides a unique opportunity for inspiration and learning for all!
